Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of terms
By installing or using the Drag to Sheets Chrome extension (the “Extension”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
2. Description of service
Drag to Sheets is a free Chrome extension that lets you drag and drop spreadsheet files (CSV, TSV, XLSX, XLS) into a browser side panel, clean and preview the data locally, and optionally send the result to your own Google account as a Google Sheets spreadsheet via the official Google Sheets and Drive APIs.
3. Your Google account
To use the Open in Sheets feature, you must sign in with your own Google account and grant the Extension permission to create and edit spreadsheets on your behalf. The Extension only creates and modifies files that it itself creates through your explicit action — it does not access, list, or modify any other files in your Google Drive. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own Google account.
4. Your data and files
You retain full ownership of any files you process with the Extension and any spreadsheets created in your Google account as a result. File parsing, cleaning, and previewing happen locally on your device; data is only transmitted to Google when you explicitly choose to open it in Google Sheets. See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Extension for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with its operation beyond what is permitted by its open-source license, or to use it in a way that violates Google's Terms of Service or API usage policies.
6. Intellectual property
The Extension's source code is publicly available and licensed under the terms specified in its repository. The “Drag to Sheets” name and icon are used to identify this project and are not licensed for use by unrelated products or services.
7. No warranty
The Extension is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Extension is at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Drag to Sheets shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, profits, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Extension.
9. Third-party services
The Extension relies on Google APIs (Sheets, Drive, and Identity) to function. Your use of these services through the Extension is also subject to Google's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from Chrome and revoking its access from your Google Account permissions page.
